Patient Appointments

What to Prepare & Bring

Please bring your insurance card, photo ID, and any X-rays or other relevant medical reports to your visit.

Most HMOs and managed care plans require a referral before we can see you. Check with your insurance and primary care doctor if you are unsure about your referral and what will be covered.

A copy of our Privacy Notice and Financial Policy will be given to you at your appointment. Please be aware of your insurance co-pay, deductible, and referral requirements. Payment is required if you have an unmet deductible of greater than $1,000.

Please arrive approximately 20 minutes early for your visit in order to complete patient information forms. These forms are also available in our Forms Menu to print and fill out beforehand. Please bring these forms to your visit if printed and completed at home. You may also use our Patient Portal to complete your medical history online through our secure network. Please allow approximately 1-2 hours for your appointment. Depending on your specific needs we may take X-rays, MRIs, fit custom bracing, or apply a cast or splint. We do value your time and do our best to run on time. There are occasions when we run late. We thank you for your patience.

We are committed to furthering surgical education. As part of our involvement, we occasionally have orthopedic residents, fellowship residents, or other advanced medical students working with our surgeons in the office.

Our appointment desk is open from 8 am until 5 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 8 am until noon on Friday. Each doctor has office hours at certain times during the week. Our appointment staff will help you choose the most convenient time for you.

Be sure to confirm which location you are scheduled. AOA has offices in East Wichita, West Wichita, and Wellington.

You may request a specific doctor. If you have no preference, please explain the nature of your problem. Each of our doctors has an orthopedic sub-specialty. Your visit is important to us and we want the best match for your needs. Subsequent appointments are made with the same doctor to provide the best possible continuity of care.
