Alexander Nazareth, MD

Dr. Alexander Nazareth is a fellowship trained spine surgeon specializing in the management of cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine disorders. He has a particular interest in endoscopic, minimally invasive and complex reconstruction procedures.

Dr. Nazare takes an evidence-based, patient-centered approach grounded in shared decision-making. He always exhausts conservative care prior to surgery and designs minimally invasive
treatment plans based on patient symptoms rather than imaging alone. Dr. Nazareth utilizes navigation guidance, robotic assisted surgery and enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols to optimize patient outcomes and prioritize patient safety.

Dr. Nazareth received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Economics from the University of Virginia followed by a Masters of Science from Georgetown University. He attended medical school at Keck School of Medicine of University of Southern California where he received a Dean’s Research Scholarship Grant and graduated with a distinction in research. He then completed orthopaedic surgery residency at Harbor-UCLA, one of the busiest Level I trauma centers in the country.

Dr. Nazareth completed a combined orthopaedic and neurosurgical spine fellowship at University of California,Irvine. There he obtained extensive training in endoscopic, minimally invasive, motion preserving and complex spine reconstruction techniques. He spent additional time in South Korea with Dr. Cheol Wung Park, Dr. Jeong Yoon Park and Dr. Dong Hwa Heo to refine his techniques in unilateral biportal endoscopic spine surgery.
Dr. Nazareth is excited to be one of the first spine surgeons in Kansas to offer endoscopic spine surgery to his patients.

Additionally, Dr. Nazareth has over 35 peer reviewed publications and book chapters with his research presented at 50 national and international meetings. He enjoys staying up to date on innovative techniques and uses his extensive research background to help practice evidence-based medicine.
